AEP Texas was awarded a $30,000 grant from the American Electric Power Foundation to Victoria Business and Education Coalition (VBEC).

The grant is in support of VBEC's efforts to improve students' lives through education, according to a news release.

AEP Foundation goals are to support and play an active role in the communities where its employees live and work.

Providing financial support to nonprofit organizations within its service territories is just one way AEP works toward this goal, according to the news release.

The donation will be used to support several of programs VBEC offers to students in the Victoria school district and surrounding communities.

"AEP understands the importance of investing in our youth since they are the leaders of tomorrow," said Lanell Mantey, VBEC executive Director. "This AEP Foundation grant will support programs to help us build a better community in Victoria."
