UHV women's golf finishes second at Lady Comet Classic

DALLAS - The UHV women's golf team placed second at the Texas-Dallas Lady Comet Classic on Tuesday, led by Becky Benchot.
Benchot finished tied for second place, shooting an 80 on the second day of the tournament.
Overall, the Jaguars placed three in the top 10. Brooke Brasseaux finished in sixth place with rounds of 84 and 82, and Lyndie Smith finished with scores of 82 and 87, good for seventh place.
UHV's team score improved by five strokes, improving to 332 from 337 on Monday. The finished 13 strokes behind champion Schreiner University.
UHV SOFTBALL FALLS OUT OF TOP 25
The UHV softball team fell out of the Top 25 on Tuesday with the release of the first regular season Top 25 NAIA Softball Coaches' poll.
After starting the season ranked No. 10 in the preseason poll, the Jaguars dropped four spots outside of the Top 25, receiving 77 votes.
The Jaguars (7-15) will face Oklahoma Baptist on Wednesday in a 2 p.m. doubleheader at the Victoria Youth Sports Complex.
