Editor, the Advocate:
Those in the Victoria area community, please accept our thanks and our eternal gratitude to all sponsors and participants of the "Stroll, Roll 'n' Run" 2013 and the continuous domino game record-setting event.
We possibly live in the greatest country on the face of the earth, a land of opportunity for everyone. The Victoria area is very much part of what makes that true. It is our belief that opportunities present themselves all the time and are God-given opportunities. It is up to each individual to make the best of these opportunities. Occasionally, we are given the opportunity to give back to help someone or some cause.
It is clear to us that Victoria has stepped up to take the opportunity to help find a cure for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Your support of the "Stroll, Roll 'n' Run" these past three years and again this year has been very successful and so very much appreciated. It means so much for all the families in the Victoria area battling this terrible disease, their caregivers, friends and supporters to know how much you all care. You are more than a community; you are family that strives to make a difference.
On behalf of the ALS families of Victoria, the ALS Therapy Development Institute and the entire ALS community, please accept our sincerest appreciation and gratitude for your gift in time and money supporting the "Stroll Roll 'n' Run" and the research at the ALS Therapy Development Institute 'ALS TDI.' (www.als.net)
Also, a special thanks for the media's support in helping to raise awareness and help find a treatment and/or cure for ALS.
Someday, hopefully soon, therapies will be developed and/or created that will slow, stop or end ALS. As these are brought forward, you will all be able to proudly say that you helped make it possible. This will be part of your legacy.
Thanks again for your donation, your trust and your partnership in our efforts to end ALS.
Your friends in the fight,
"Stroll, Roll 'n' Run," Victoria
