Victoria College has hired Donna Rodriguez, testing coordinator, for the spring semester. Additionally, Victoria College has promoted Lupe Martinez to interim food services director, Kelly Phelps to director of public service academies and Joy Sixtos to academic adviser for the KEY Center.

Mark Martinez, a business adviser for the University of Houston-Victoria Small Business Development Center, has earned certification as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

John Thomas, with the Victoria UPS, has been inducted this year into the Circle of Honor. Thomas is one of 1,283 newly inducted members worldwide into the honorary organization for drivers who have achieved 25 or more years of accident-free driving.

Mike Samford joined Wells Fargo Bank as a senior business relationship manager at the 4800 N. Navarro St. location. He has 17 years combined experience in banking and business consulting.

Victoria College announced Marilyn Gibbs, ADN instructor in the Division of Career, Health and Technical Professions, as a new faculty member for the spring semester.

Elina Saeki is in her first year as an assistant professor of psychology in the University of Houston-Victoria School of Arts and Sciences. Saeki teaches graduate-level school psychology courses in the areas of child therapy, assessment, consultation and ethics.

Sherry Pelkey joined the University of Houston-Victoria School of Education and Human Development as a lecturer and director of field experiences. She teaches an instructional design class and coordinates UHV student teachers in schools.
