50th Anniversary

Carlton & Sandra Bolting of Yorktown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, December 23, 2012. The morning began at St. Paul Lutheran church where all their children and grandchildren gathered for worship. Flowers were placed at the pulpit in their honor.

Following the church service the family enjoyed lunch at the Olive Garden restaurant in Victoria. After the meal, a beautiful Italian wedding cake was served.

After the holidays, the couple went on their "dream cruise" with their daughter & son-in-law, Bret & Shellie Miller to Cozumel, Mexico.

The couple has three children and eleven grandchildren, Steven & Mercy Bolting of Richmond, TX (Hannah-Grace, Samuel, Susannah, & Shiphrah), Wade & Loretta Bolting of Yorktown (Jennifer, Amanda, Christopher, Emie, & Katie), and Bret & Shellie Miller of Richmond, TX (Kylie & Garrett). Both Sandra and Carlton were only children who dreamed of having a big family one day. They feel very blessed to have made their life together.

The couple was engaged on Sandra's 19th birthday. After Carlton returned from his military service overseas with the U.S. Army and Sandra completed her degree at Bauder Business School, they were married on December 23, 1962 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown, TX. The couple moved to Kingsville, TX where Carlton finished his degree in business at Texas A&I University while Sandra worked at Kingsville First Savings and Loan Association. They moved to Houston where Carlton worked for Houston Lighting and Power Company and Sandra for Gibraltar Savings & Loan in downtown Houston. They moved back to Yorktown in 1967 where Carlton taught high school math and business, farmed, and ranched. Sandra stayed at home with the children until their youngest went to school. She worked for the District Attorney for 27 years as a certified paralegal before retiring. Carlton enjoys ranching and has served as district commander for the VFW for three terms. Sandra enjoys spoiling all her grandkids.
