Offering an array of inventive appetizers to tempt the entire spectrum of tastes, The PumpHouse was voted the place to find the best appetizers by readers in the Advocate's Best of the Best competition.

Diners may choose from a variety of choices, from the popular Bloody Mary shrimp shooters to the beef bruschetta and fried macaroni and cheese. There's something for everyone, owner Dennis Patillo said.

"We really spent a lot of time thinking about what appetizers would be served, so we tried to get a combination of things that you'd not find any other place," he said.

Patillo said he was thrilled his restaurant has been voted for best appetizers but noted that he sees the win as a challenge.

"When you've been voted the best, there's only one place to go, and that's down. I don't want that, so I'm going to keep working to keep improving and getting better and better," he said.
