The changes in downtown Victoria have not gone unnoticed.
Just ask the readers who voted Downtown Victoria the best place to take photos in the Crossroads for the Advocate's 2013 Best of the Best competition.
The downtown area has undergone several changes in the past few years, plus the Main Street Program was added, said the program's president Larry Clark.
With the new changes, which include newer brick sidewalks and better shrubbery, Clark said it really helped make downtown Victoria a great place for photos.
"It's wonderful," he said about the area being voted in. "It's real comforting to see everyone back down there wanting to admire the town."
Clark said a lot of older people, like himself, enjoy the downtown area because it still looks how it was when they were growing up. He has also seen people taking photos of the historic courthouse, which makes him smile.
