Best Assisted Living: Hospice of South Texas

Hospice of South Texas is all about compassion.

The nonprofit organization has been named Best of the Best by readers of the Advocate for assisted living care.

"We are thrilled to have been chosen as the leader in hospice care in the Crossroads area," said advancement director Hilary Lucas.

"The services we provide often include exactly what caregivers are looking for when a loved one experiences a life-limiting illness - expertise, compassion and support."

Formed in 1985 as Hospice of Victoria, in 1989 Hospice of South Texas opened a branch office to eventually take patients within an 11-county area: Victoria, Calhoun, Jackson, Lavaca, DeWitt, Refugio, Goliad, Gonzales, Colorado, Fayette and Bee.
