Power outage forces cancellation of VC night classes

Victoria College canceled night classes Thursday after the school lost power at 6:45 p.m.

The entire campus, as well as area neighborhoods, were without power.

"After our electric provider indicated it would be around 9 p.m. before we regained power, the decision was made to cancel classes for the safety and security of our students, faculty and staff. An alert was sent to the campus community," said Darin Kazmir, VC director of marketing and communications.

As of late Thursday, the power was coming on intermittently, he added.

Classes will resume Friday morning, he said.
