Decora Study Club met March 26 at Victoria Women's Club House.
Sandra Ryan, director of volunteers for Hospice of South Texas, presented a program on hospice volunteer training. She gave an overview of the hospice organization and explained about how vital volunteers are in making this program successful. A volunteer came with Ryan to tell about the experiences they have working with people who are going through the last chapter of their life. The next training session for volunteers will start the first week of May. They also have a prayer shawl ministry that meets once a week. For more information about this organization or to volunteer, visit the Hospice office at 605 E. Locust Ave. or call 361-572-4300.
Federation Counselor Francisca Watts gave a report on the Alamo District meeting where Decora won several awards for past meetings.
Dolly Stokes gave the federation report for the day and shared tips on conserving energy in our homes. She also talked about her career working in the electric service business.
Secretary Valerie Parker read the minutes for the March 12, meeting and Treasurer, Becky Miller gave the financial report. There were 33 members and two guests in attendance.
