Vacant house burns in Edna

A vacant house in Edna was destroyed by fire early Thursday morning.

At 5:15 a.m., Edna firefighters responded to the call in the 100 block of Pumphrey Street.

Fire was showing through the roof in the middle of the house when firefighters arrived, said firefighter Terry Jordan.

Firefighters were on scene about five hours.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Edna fire marshal.
