Pat Hausmann, president of St. Luke's Lutheran Church; Gerald Griffith, president of St. Peter's Lutheran Church; Wilburn Oehlke, president of Zion Lutheran Church; the Rev. Barbara Beale, pastor of St. Luke's and Zion; and John Dellis, minister of St. Peter's, display a cake celebrating 10 years of cooperative ministry between the three congregations.

Members and friends of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Schroeder, St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Ander and Zion Lutheran Church in Arneckeville gathered April 14 at Schroeder Hall to celebrate 10 years of cooperative ministry between the three congregations.

St. Luke's, St. Peter's and Zion - all congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America - first held five joint Wednesday evening Lent suppers and services in 2003.

The Lent services later included joint Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services, and the congregations also host three weekday Advent suppers and services together.

Common offerings are received at the joint services, and the offerings have benefited a variety of ministries over the years, including Cross Trails Ministry, Lutheran campus ministry, ELCA World Hunger and local food pantries and the ELCA Malaria Initiative.

The April 14 event, attended by almost 300 people, also celebrated the 25th anniversary of the formation of the ELCA.
