Editor, the Advocate:
Lifeway Baptist Church is sponsoring a 24-hour prayer vigil for Andrew Heard on Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. Andrew will also be speaking Sunday at 10 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend. A lunch will be served immediately after the service. The lives impacted and changed by Andrew Heard's story of struggling with cancer to empowering people to never give up has made an impression on not just our community but also to those who follow his blog and have heard him speak.
God is using Andrew in a mighty way to reach people who might never sit in a church or hear a sermon. Our goal is to have people from our community to sign up for 30-minute time slots here on our campus and have an around-the-clock 24-hour time of prayer. This time of community prayer is not just for Andrew but for every need our community might have. We ask that they sign up in person at the church from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday or online. We also want people who have been following him on his blog to sign up to be in prayer off campus, around the county, wherever they may be. Our temporary website is lifewaycuero.org; go to the banner "Andrew Heard" and follow the prompts.
If off campus, please note on website "offcampus" and include a phone number. Prayer counselors will be available around the clock on campus.
