Receipts: 473

Had 88 cows and 16 bulls. The packer market was steady to $2 higher with reduced numbers coming to market as a result of beneficial area rains.

The calf market was stronger on light receipts. The heavy weight steers over 500 were $4 to $6 higher with all other classes at least $1 to $2 higher. Special consignment of Brahman heifers sold well, bringing up to $1,300 each. All replacement orders were much higher as a result of the rains received last week.

Packer bulls: Heavy weights, $88-$102; lower grades, $70-$85.

Packer cows: breakers, $65-$74; boning cows, $70-$82; canners and cutters, $80-$88; light and weak, $50-$65.

Palpated dry cows (9 bred cows): $86-$101; pairs (3): $910-$1,300.

Compared to last week: Good rains in our area have pasture conditions much improved. The market was mostly $2 to $3 higher this week. Demand very good on limited supply.

Packer cows and bulls $1 to $2 higher on about 100 head total.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $72-$87; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $61-$72; light weight canner cows, $48-$61.
