City Corner column: Summer jobs available
I'm a college student looking for a summer job. Does the city have any summer jobs available?
Yes! The city's Parks and Recreation Department is hiring. During this busy part of the year, activities, athletics and events swing into high gear.
We need summer employees to help with lots of summer events. If you are a people person and like to be a part of fun activities, you may like working for Parks and Recreation.
If you are looking for part-time employment, then we may have a job for you.
Recreation workers are being hired to work at the Lone Tree Creek splash pad. This facility is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, and we need workers to ensure our guests have a safe and enjoyable visit.
The Gary T. Moses Municipal pool will open for the summer in June. We need lifeguards, a head lifeguard and cashiers.
We also need employees to help with fun events and activities planned for the summer months, including downtown street dances, Market Days, Evenings at the Ethel Lee Tracy Park Amphitheater, the annual Fourth of July fireworks show, a Kayak Clinic, summer sports leagues and much more.
In addition to part-time positions, the city offers a summer youth work program for workers ages 16 and older.
