• Victoria resident Obaida Hamoudah considers Jerusalem to be part of Palestine, rather than Israel. Palestinians assert East Jerusalem belongs to the state of Palestine, even though Israel claims it. Hamoudah said she was wearing a colorful scarf when she spoke to Claire Hallett's class. Hallett was responsible for inviting Hamoudah to speak about Middle Eastern culture and religion. Hamoudah said the teacher played an integral role in the discussion comparing Muslim and American cultures. Information in a story on Page E1 on April 27 was unclear on these points.
