Trends: Steers and heifers, steady.

Steers: (200-300) $143-$207; (300-400) $131-$168; (400-500) $130-$160; (500-600) $117-$152; (600-700) $111-$130; and (700-800) $99-$113.

Heifers: (200-300) $130-$180; (300-400) $123-$158; (400-500) $119-$149; (500-600) $102-$135; (600-700) $95-$120; and (700-800) $85-$97.

Slaughter cows: $40-$82; slaughter bulls, $65-$94.50; stocker cows, $65-$89; bred cows, $755-$1,000; pairs, $590-$1,350; horses, $150-$300.

Receipts: 1,013

Had 211 cows and 15 bulls. The packer market was again steady to $2 higher even with over 200 head coming to market.

The calf market was steady to stronger on most classes. The new crop of calves that are carrying too much flesh were discounted as they were in the past sales. Most of calves weighing under 500 pounds were cheaper as a result of this. Most heifer classes were steady while good steers in good condition continued to dominate the market. Had some new buyers on hand which generated a lot of activity.

Packer bulls: Heavy weights, $88-$99; lower grades, $70-$85.

Packer cows: breakers, none; boning cows, $70-$84; canners and cutters, $80-$91; light and weak, $50-$65.

Palpated dry cows (17 bred cows): $84-$105; pairs (11): $870-$1,240.

Steer calves: (under 200) none; (200-250) none; (250-300) $100-$140; (300-350) $162-$184;(350-400) $156-$163; (400-450) $143-$156; (450-500) $142-$156; (500-600) $141-$153; (550-600) $133-$146;(600-700) $137-$144; (700-800) $112-$116.

Compared to last week: The market this week was fully steady with some heavier weight steer classes $1 to $2 higher. Demand continues very good on the better quality classes.

Packer cows and bulls sold steady to $1 higher on about 225 head total.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $75-$89.50; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $63-$75; light weight canner cows, $51-$61.

Packer bulls: Heavyweight bulls, $100-$103.50; utility and cutter bulls, $91-$100; light weight canner bulls, $82-$91.
