Victoria College introduces new game development online course
Victoria College has partnered with ed2go to launch "How to Get Started in Game Development," an online, instructor-led course.
Participants in this course will learn how to build the foundation to design and develop games for modern consoles, desktop computers and mobile computing devices. They'll delve into the game development cycle and key techniques and procedures and get an overview of game genres, platforms and audiences.
"Right now is the perfect time to get started in a career in the game development industry," said Radonna Brown, VC's Workforce & Continuing Education program coordinator. "You can find games online, on computers, gaming consoles and almost every smartphone and tablet out there. It is forecasted that the gaming industry will be worth close to $100 billion in the next two years, and creative, talented and passionate people are going to be in high demand."
This course is part of Victoria College's growing schedule of more than 300 instructor-facilitated, non-credit online courses. Through well-crafted lessons, expert online instruction and interaction with fellow students, participants in these courses gain valuable knowledge at their convenience. They have the flexibility to study at their own pace combined with enough structure and support to complete the course. And they can access the classroom 24/7 from anywhere with an Internet connection.
New sessions of each course run every month. The sessions last six weeks, with two new lessons being released weekly, for a total of 12 lessons. The courses are entirely Web-based with comprehensive lessons, quizzes and assignments.
