If you notice suspicious activity, contact the Victoria Police Department at 361-575-0651 or the Victoria County Sheriff's Office at 361-574-8040.
The Victoria County District Attorney's Office is coordinating a DWI Task Force to operate during Memorial Day weekend.
Partners in the effort Saturday and Sunday are Texas Department of Public Safety, the Victoria County Sheriff's Office, the Victoria Police Department and area judges.
Officers will focus on drunken driving violations.
If a driving while intoxicated arrest is made, the driver will be asked to give a sample of their breath or blood to determine the blood/alcohol level.
If the person refuses, then a warrant will be issued for a blood sample, and it will be drawn.
"This effort is intended to discourage anyone from drinking and driving but is also intended to help prove DWI cases against those who choose to drive while intoxicated," according to the news release. "It is the intent of all agencies involved in this effort to prevent property damage, injury and/or death from occurring to the people in our community."
Those planning to drink are encouraged to have a designated driver.
