Editor's note:

This is the seventh installment in an ongoing series looking at the Crossroads' top taxpayers.

The Inteplast Group plant which calls Lolita home tends to be a busy place.

Nearly 2,000 employees do their part each week to create the plastic bags, food containers, stretch films and more that people use daily.

With that much activity, it's only natural a business needs space. And with its more than 3.4 million square feet in facilities, Inteplast has no shortage of that, Alisha Koehl, the company's human resources administrator, told the Advocate last year.

In fact, the 575-acre Lolita site claims the title of the world's largest single integrated plastics manufacturing site, she said.

The recognition doesn't end there.

Livingston, N.J.-based Inteplast Group not only tops the list of the county's top taxpayers but maintains the top two spots.

Mary Kay George, with the Jackson County Appraisal District, said those two separate listings pertain to the same entity but probably come due to the way the land was divided, owner identification or something similar.
