Goliad residents injured in U.S. 59 wreck
Two Goliad residents were injured in a wreck on U.S. Highway 59 about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Hortense Garza, 81, and Dan Garza, 81, were transported to DeTar Hospital Navarro, where they were treated and released, said supervisor Diana Hernandez.
Thomas Lyons, 37, of Katy, was driving a Dodge Ram north on U.S. Highway 59, attempting to turn west onto Loop 463 when he collided with a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Hortense Garza, said Department of Public Safety Trooper Vern Sterry.
Lyons was given a ticket for failure to yield the right of way. He was able to drive away from the wreck, Sterry said.
