Laureate Alpha Omicron holds end-of-year meeting
The final business meeting for Laureate Alpha Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma was held recently in the home of President Frances Smith. Prior to the meeting, a lasagna supper was served by Mrs. Smith and co-hostess Joyce Parker.
Committee reports were given by outgoing chairmen, and plans for the coming year were presented by new chairmen and were approved by the membership.
Virginia Sullivan, who recently toured the Holy Land, gave everyone a keepsake bookmark from her trip.
Mrs. Smith, owner of Initially Yours, stated that yearbook covers should be taken to the shop for a theme design for the year.
Loretta Johnson, yearbook chairwoman, asked for any changes on personal information sheets.
Joyce Parker presented the program, "Health Tips." She discussed the importance of vitamin D, 10 ways to keep your eyes sharp, snoring remedies, 10 uncommon ways to eat oatmeal, ways to get rid of scorpions and what to do for sick friends.
Regular meetings will resume in September. Monthly socials will be in the summer. The first will be a fish fry and covered-dish supper June 22 at the home of Margaret Williams at 6:30 p.m.
