Suspects identified in Goliad burglaries

The Goliad County Sheriff's Office is narrowing in on suspects in a string of burglaries that occurred in March and April.

Sheriff Kirby Brumby said more than 17 places, from Little League teams to churches, have been affected by the burglaries, with primarily lawn equipment and tools reported stolen.

He said cases for two people have been presented to the Goliad district attorney and, if accepted, he hopes to have arrest warrants by the beginning of next week.

Brumby said about 40 percent of the stolen items have been recovered as a result of officers' reviewing video surveillance and scouring pawn shops.
