Bilingual reading night launched

Hopkins Elementary School first-grader Keyla Ayala listens as Kim Camarillo reads a story as part of the Victoria school district's first Bilingual/ESL Department Family Reading Night. Students heard stories, learned vocabulary words and did activities associated with the books in celebration of the traditional observances of  Dia de los Muertos. The Reading Night also featured performances by Ballet Folklorico students from Victoria East and Victoria West high schools and art displays from secondary students. Parents were also able to create games to take home for family educational time.
