Traffic Tip: License must be carried, exhibited on demand

A driver is required to have his or her driver's license available to show when asked.

Why this specific code and how does it relate to driving in Victoria?

Numerous times lately, I have stopped drivers who did not have their driver's license on their person at the time of the stop.

Whether they're "just going to the store" or "live just around the corner," they are in violation of the law if they do not have their license with them.

This is a reminder to always carry your driver's license with you when operating a motor vehicle on the street.

For information on the law see Texas Transportation Code 521.025.
