October went by briskly, sort of

A touch of fall, just a touch, crept into Victoria in October.

For one night, Oct. 20, the overnight low dipped below 50, settling in the low temperature for the month at 48, according to the National Weather Service.

Three other nights were in the 50s, but by month's end - actually, on Oct. 30 - the overnight low had ballooned back to 77.

Speaking of low temperatures, if you went trick-or-treating 20 years ago, you bundled up.

The record low for October was set Oct. 31, 1993, at a bone-chilling 31.
