Heart goes out to woman who lost cats
Editor, the Advocate:
I'm writing in response to Sharon Mathiews regarding her beloved cats, Paris and Mojo.
I empathize with you, Sharon, and you are right; there is no place on this earth for people who are cruel to animals. That was never God's intention. He pronounced all His creations as "good," and cruelty was not acceptable.
According to man's law, proof is needed in order for crimes, such as animal cruelty, to be dealt with and enforced. If no proof is available, they may escape man's laws, but their Creator is aware of their cruelty, and it will not go unpunished (unless they amend their actions). The conscience has to become involved. Anyone who can trap and kill an unsuspecting animal either has no conscience or is not allowing it to guide them scripturally or morally.
God is merciful and forgiving, but only if we do our part in obeying His laws, which includes caring for our cohabitors. My heart goes out to you, Sharon. I wanted you to know that there are others out here who care!
