Victoria native speaks at cancer event

Golden Crescent Court Appointed Special Advocates's fifth annual Holiday Wine Pairing is from 7-10 p.m. Friday at the Victoria Art League, 905 S. Bridge St. The evening features Italian wines and delicacies, with food served by Huvar's, silent and live auctions, raffle and door prizes. Tickets are $75 each, with only 300 being sold. Lt. Col. Jason Blevins, a Victoria native and battalion commander for "Lobos" with the 2nd General Support Aviation Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, spoke during a cancer awareness run at Hood Army Airfield, Fort Hood, on Oct. 25. About 500 soldiers, family members and friends dressed in pink and yellow during the 5K walk/run or 10K run to show their support for cancer victims and survivors.
