CUERO

Nov. 15

Receipts: 2,386

Had 243 cows and 32 bulls. The packer market was the same as last week mainly because of competition from at least five different cow buyers. As a result, another strong week. Pairs went as high as $2,025 with bred cows as high as $1,625 each.

The calf market after last week's record-breaking runaway market settled back a bit from those highs. Still plenty demand for quality calves. As one buyer put it, "the market is lower, but by no means cheaper." So calves are still a hot item. Most classes were off only $1 to $2.
