Houston man dies in rollover crash on U.S. 59 near Vanderbilt

Robert Reese, 52, of Houston, was traveling north on U.S. 59 at 9:13 a.m. when his 2005 Chevrolet Suburban flipped about 2 miles south of the Vanderbilt exit. Reese was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Houston man died Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 59 near Vanderbilt.

Department of Public Safety Trooper Matt Southhall said Robert Reese, 52, of Houston, was traveling north on the highway at 9:13 a.m. when his 2005 Chevrolet Suburban flipped about 2 miles south of the Vanderbilt exit.

He was alone in the vehicle.

Jackson County Justice of the Peace Darren Stancik pronounced Reese dead at the scene, Southhall said.

Reese's body was transported by ambulance to Victoria Mortuary.

Southhall said the wreck was still under investigation.
