Commissioner Clint Ives announced Monday he will seek a second term in office.
So far, no one has filed to challenge Ives, who is running on the Republican ticket for Precinct 4 commissioner in the March 4 primary.
"I'm excited about it," said Ives, who was first elected in 2011.
He said his precinct had the most gravel roads in the county when he took office.
"We've aggressively been working that number down," Ives said. "I'm excited about furthering the progress we've made."
Since taking office, Ives and his road crew paved about 14 miles of new road and applied more than 17,000 tons of gravel and materials to improve existing roads.
He also started a recycling program that has since been adopted countywide.
He also serves with the Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission, the Chamber of Commerce Transportation Committee, and the Metropolitan Planning Organization.
