St. Mary's Altar Society holds meeting

St. Mary's Altar Society met at 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Activity Center. President Al Bomba opened the meeting with 41 members present.

Geraldine Jurica gave the invocation, and the sick were remembered in prayer.

Plans for the Harvest Bazaar on Nov. 16 were finalized. It opened at 9 a.m. Lunch of potato soup and garlic bread was served. There was takeout orders, a a country store and many handcrafted items.

The Coffee and Donut Social was Nov. 17 after the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Masses.

Hostesses for the meeting were Lillia Vianes, Pauline Sturm, Evelyn Dierlam and Martha Hamel.

A covered-dish meal to welcome the Rev. Gabriel Mensah will be after the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday in the Activity Center. The parish is invited.

Janell Kruppa, 361-575-8166, and Georgia West, 361-935-5700, will be accepting donations for the purchase of Christmas flowers in memory of or in honor of a loved one.

Nicki Halepeska won the door prize. The meeting adjourned for social hour.
