The Texas Zoo is constructing a new $100,000 African lion enclosure for its lions, Aesa and Gaia.

The lions have been with the zoo since 2010 and have outgrown their current home. The Texas Zoo has been raising money and planning this new exhibit for a couple of years, according to a news release from the zoo.

The exhibit is expected to open early next year because of monetary and material donations from companies such as American Electric Power and Mundine's Materials and Trucking.

Light posts for the exhibit are also being donated and installed by AEP, according to the release.

Between AEP and Mundine's donation, the zoo has saved more than $15,000, according to the new release.
