Two people were taken to Victoria hospitals Friday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 59.

The crash occurred about 1:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway near the Raisin community.

Tabitha Senter, 23, who is eight months pregnant, was taken to Citizens Medical Center after she complained of lower back pain. Her husband, Keenan Senter, 24, who was the driver of the vehicle, went with her, said Department of Public Safety Trooper Matt Skorupa.

The driver of the second vehicle, Martin Barges, 21, of Goliad, was taken to DeTar Hospital Navarro.

Representatives at both hospitals said they had no record of treating either patient.

Barges will receive a citation for failure to control speed, said DPS spokesman Trooper Gerald Bryant.
