Blue Bell official discusses marketing concepts to VC class, advertising federation members

Scott Lisk, Blue Bell Creameries branch manager for the Corpus Christi branch, spoke to students in Victoria College's Principles of Marketing class and members of the American Advertising Federation-Victoria on Tuesday.

Lisk gave a brief history of the creamery that began in 1907 and discussed how Blue Bell products are marketed and distributed through Texas and 21 other states.

"From the first day of class, we've stressed the fact that effective marketing isn't just about advertising," said Darin Kazmir, who doubles as VC's director of Marketing and Communications and a marketing instructor. "Successful marketing requires an effective mix of product, price, distribution and promotional strategies."

Lisk echoed that message in his presentation, which Kazmir said gave students a unique opportunity to see marketing concepts applied in the real world.

Attendees also received samples of Blue Bell's best-selling flavor, Homemade Vanilla.
