Firefighers prepare a 2003 Mazda Protege to be towed after it was involved in a wreck Wednesday night in the 2000 block of US Highway 59. The Protege was traveling north on the highway when it crossed a median and struck a southbound 2008 Mazda M3. Two people were transported.

Two drivers injured Wednesday night in a wreck in the 2300 block of U.S. Highway 59 were still hospitalized Friday night.

Aprille Paatan, 22, of Houston, who was extracted from her blue 2008 Mazda M3, was listed in stable condition and in a private room at Citizens Medical Center, a hospital spokesperson said Friday afternoon.

Jeremy Quada, 25, of Victoria, was also in stable condition Friday night at DeTar Hospital Navarro, according to a hospital supervisor.

Quada was driving a 2003 Mazda Protege, crossed the median and collided with the Mazda M3, which spun out of control and was struck again by a gray 2009 Hyundai Sonata, Department of Public Safety Trooper Vern Sterry said Wednesday.

The driver and the passenger of the Sonata were not injured.
