An Ingleside man wanted in connection with a June shooting death in Refugio County was arrested last week.
Michael Anthony Rocha, 35, a known member of the Raza Unida Prison Gang, was sought in connection with the June 25 slaying of a Woodsboro man.
Paul Lopez, 43, was shot 13 times and found dead and covered in blood in the backyard of a home. An autopsy revealed Lopez died of gunshot wounds. Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Emi Riemenschneider pronounced Lopez dead and ordered an autopsy.
After a three-month investigation, Refugio County investigators executed a search warrant Thursday at a home in the 700 block of North Rifle Street in Aransas Pass without incident, according to a U.S. Marshals Service news release.
The Victoria division of the Gulf Coast Violent Offender and Fugitive Task Force assisted in locating and arresting Rocha, who is being held at the Refugio County Jail in lieu of a $750,000 bond.
The task force is comprised of law enforcement officers from the U.S. Marshals, Victoria and Nueces county sheriff's departments, Corpus Christi Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the office of Inspector General.
