Had 147 cows and 16 bulls. The packer market was steady to a little lower as market conditions continue to reflect a weak demand, and numbers are still high but slowing down a bit.

The calf market was steady with last week's big up market. Gains are holding on No. 1's, and again this week, the strongest market is on good quality calves under 500 pounds. Any weakness is in plainer type calves carrying too much flesh.

Packer bulls: Heavy weights, $88-$92; lower grades, $70-$80.

Packer cows: breakers, $65-$75; boning cows, $65-$80; canners and cutters, $80-$86; light and weak, $48-$60.

Palpated dry cows (40 bred cows): $89-$122; pairs (4): $1,000-$1,150.

Compared to last week: The market this week was basically steady - instances $2 higher to $2 lower. Heavier weights continued strong. Best demand continues to be seen on better quality classes. Plainer types remain discounted.

Packer cows and bulls sold $1 to $2 lower on about 230 head total.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $71-$85; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $58-$71; lightweight canner cows, $48-$58.
