Indicted

VICTORIA - A grand jury returned indictments on the following people Oct. 3: • Christine Adams Vargas, 36, of Victoria, on a charge of engaging in organized criminal activity. She is charged with altering with a group of people a woman's check valued at $96.46 to defraud her Aug. 3.

• Billie Suzanne Garcia, 22, of Victoria, on a charge of theft between $1,500 and $20,000. She is charged with stealing from a business on between March 5, 2012, and Oct. 12, 2012.

• Anna Marie Hernandez, 30, of Rockport, on a charge of theft stolen property less than $1,500 with two or more previous convictions. She is charged with stealing pickles, hair products and toiletries valued at less than $1,500 from H-E-B, 1505 E. Rio Grande, on Aug. 19.

• Nicole Castillo, 33, of Port Lavaca, on a charge of forgery of a financial instrument. She is charged with defrauding a woman by altering the woman's check valued at $54.96 May 21.

• Garland Jacques Price, 49, of Port Lavaca, on a charge of forgery of a financial instrument. She is charged with defrauding a woman by altering the woman's check valued at $54.96 May 21.

• Richard Wayne Johnson, 31, of Victoria, on a charge of theft and two counts of forgery of a financial instrument. He is charged with stealing between $1,500 and $20,000 in cash from a business in the 100 block of South Main Street between June 3 and July 13. He is also charged with altering the business' checks to defraud it June 27 and July 8.

• Alma D. Andrade, 36, of San Juan, on a charge of possession of marijuana between 50 and 2,000 pounds. She is charged with possessing between 50 and 2,000 pounds July 12.

• Maria Gonzala Guerrero, 17, of San Juan, on a charge of possession of marijuana between 50 and 2,000 pounds. She is charged with possessing between 50 and 2,000 pounds July 12.

• Michael Alexander Guerrero, 18, of San Juan, on a charge of possession of marijuana between 50 and 2,000 pounds. She is charged with possessing between 50 and 2,000 pounds on July 12.

• Kristy Gail Cervantez, 34, of Victoria, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram in a drug-free zone. She is charged with possessing less than 1 gram of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of the Baptist Temple Daycare's playground, 1804 N. Laurent St., July 26.

• Jeffery Lee Garcia, 31, of Victoria, on a charge of manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance less than 28 grams in a drug-free zone. He is charged with possessing with the intent to deliver less than 28 grams of hydrocodone within 1,000 feet of Mitchell Guidance Center, 306 E. Commercial St., Feb 13.

• Christy Dann Phillips, 22, of Victoria, on a charge of manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance less than 28 grams in a drug-free zone. She is charged with possessing with the intent to deliver less than 28 grams of hydrocodone within 1,000 feet of Mitchell Guidance Center, 306 E. Commercial St., Feb 13.

• Matthew Joseph Small, 17, of Victoria, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram. He is charged with possessing less than 1 gram of cocaine July 31.

• Joseph James Arce, 41, of Victoria, on a charge of possession of controlled substance between 1 and 4 grams and possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram. He is charged with possessing between 1 and 4 grams of cocaine and possessing less than 1 gram of methamphetamine July 9.

• Anna Lisa Cantu, 33, of Victoria, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram. She is charged with possessing less than 1 gram of cocaine July 9.

• Matthew Dillon Crossland, 23, of Victoria, on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. He is charged with unlawfully possessing on July 14. He was convicted of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group in September 2010.

• Christopher Lee Pena, 28, of Kingsville, on a charge of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle. He is charged with fleeing a peace officer in a vehicle Jan. 11.

• Tamara Gipson, 39, of Victoria, on a charge of theft less than $1,500 with two or more previous convictions. She is charged with stealing clothing valued at less than $1,500 from a business in the 2200 block of North Laurent Street by passing a check when she did not have sufficient funds Aug. 13.

• Zackary Mykle Rodriquez, 19, of Victoria, on a charge of harassment of a public servant. He is charged with spitting on a peace officer Aug. 8.

Wrecked

VICTORIA - A maroon Ford Explorer northbound in the 2800 block of North Ben Jordan flipped Wednesday after running a red light at the Loma Vista intersection and colliding with another vehicle.
