Decora Club hosts first meeting of year
The first meeting of the 2013-14 Decora Study Club of Victoria was highlighted by announcing the expectations and directions for the upcoming year.
The meeting was Sept. 17 at 10 a.m at the Victoria Women's Club House.
President Dr. Martha Jones welcomed members to the new year and presented her theme, "Our Cultures, Our Heritage."
Decora members were led in the Club Collect and pledges of allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, the Texas Flag and The American's Creed by past president, Francisca Watts.
Beth Person introduced the programs for the upcoming year, and Ann Heinrich presented the yearbooks. Mary Virginia Jacobs presented the budget, and Jo Cornstubble gave the Federation Presentation.
Jones reminded members of the next Decora Club meeting at 10 a.m. Oct. 8 at the Victoria Women's Club House.
A portrait of an early Victorian settler will be presented by Barbara Kennedy in the role of "Anna Siebel Lenz." This will be Decora Club guest day.
After Jones' closing remarks, the meeting was adjourned so that members could enjoy the catered luncheon. Hostesses were Decora past presidents, and Mary Ann Wright, Anne Roddy, Margaret Vaughan comprised the social committee.
