Laureate Alpha Omicron meets
Laureate Alpha Omicron chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met recently in the home of Virginia Sullivan with Frances Smith presiding. Delores Kaspar served as co-hostess.
Sullivan presented a program on shopping. She invited members to share their experiences - both good and bad.
Committee reports were given. Marcy Turk, ways and means chairwoman, stated the provisions meal would cost $15 per member.
A shower for Perpetual Help Home is Nov. 5. The chapter will collect toiletries etc., for the event.
A "Calendar Girls" citywide social is scheduled for Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Koenig home.
The chapter will attend the dinner theater matinee at the Gaslight Theater in Shiner on Nov. 3. Husbands are invited to the presentation.
Louise Pletcher, parliamentarian, read a letter from the president of her former Harlingen chapter who was an immigrant. The letter praised America for all its opportunities and thanked her sister in Beth Sigma Phi for this friendship and support.
The next meeting Tuesday at the Smith Home.
