Crossroads Community Band hosts outdoor concert

WHERE: Victoria College Technology Center, 2200 E. Red River St.

WHEN: 7 p.m. Tuesday

COST: Free

The Crossroads Community Band will host a free outdoor concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Victoria College quad in front of the Technology Center.

The concert will feature British band music originally conducted by Malcolm Arnold, Gordon Jacob, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Kenneth J. Alford and others.

The event is free and open to the public. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnic baskets.

The band, conducted by Donnie Todd, rehearses Tuesday nights in the Victoria College band hall. The Crossroads Community Band is affiliated with VC, and students may enroll in the band for VC music ensemble credit.

Founded in 2009, the Crossroads Community Band consists of instrumentalists from all walks of life, including retirees, teachers, doctors, librarians, engineers, computer specialists, business people, students and musicians.
