Receipts: 1,617

Had 154 cows and 14 bulls. The packer market was up about $2 as supply and demand conditions improved from recent weeks.

The calf market was even, stronger than last week's up market. Gains are holding good with some classes up $1-$3 in spots. Most steers of No. 1 quality are up $1-$5. While heifers are holding on gains of last week. Overall demand is strong reflecting good wheat grazing conditions as well as favorable corn prices.

Packer bulls: Heavyweights, $92-$98; lower grades, $70-$85.

Packer cows: breakers, $65-$75; boning cows, $65-$83; canners and cutters, $80-$88; light and weak, $48-$60.

Compared to last week: The market was higher this week. Better quality heavier weights sold $2 to $3 higher while classes 600 pounds and down sold $3 to $6 higher. Demand very good on the better kinds. Plainer types continue to remain slow.

Packer cows and bulls sold $1 to $2 higher on about 160 head total.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $72-$87; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $60-$72; lightweight canner cows, $50-$60.
