United Methodist Women gear up for Fall Arts and Crafts Show

It's never too early to begin shopping for the holiday season. The Fall Arts and Crafts Show will feature an array of fall and Christmas decorations and gifts. The show, sponsored by United Methodist women, will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, 407 N. Bridge St.

The vendor show will feature handcrafted items and include Christmas angels, Santas, decorations, fabric art, woodcrafts, jewelry, stained glass, floral crafts and original art.

Admission is free, and there will be hourly door prize drawings.

The Country Cafe will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Homemade soups and sandwiches will be served. Coffee and dessert will be available until 3 p.m.

The bake sale will feature "All Texas" recipes: Guadalupe River bottom cake, pralines, Conroe blueberry bread, and Texas honey cookies.

The pumpkin patch will be open. Come for games, activities and snow cones in the pumpkin patch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Walgreens will conduct a flu clinic in the parlor. Flu shots will be free with your Medicare card. For all others, the fee will be $31.99. They will also have glucose screening and blood pressure checks.

Proceeds from booth rental and food sales will benefit the church and community missions.
