VC's Halloween Carnival to feature costume contest
Calling all ghosts, super heroes, princesses and pirates.
Victoria College will have its 19th annual Halloween Carnival from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in and around the VC Student Center.
Organized by VC's Student Activities Office, the annual event is free and open to the public.
Individual booths are run by student organizations as fundraisers for their clubs. Visitors will buy tickets when they enter the carnival to redeem at the booths for games and food.
Families are encouraged to attend the event and bring their children in costume to participate in the costume contests for various age groups. The costume contests will feature age groups of infant-3 years, 4-6 years, 7-10 years and 11 and up.
In each age group, a trophy will be given for each of the following categories: Most Scary, Most Adorable and Most Original costumes.
Registration for the costume contest will begin at 5:30 p.m., and judging will begin at 6:30 p.m.
VC's Student Government Association is partnering with PTK to feature a spooky haunted house, according to Elaine Everett-Hensley, director of student activities and the VC Student Center.
Carnival attendees will have a wide selection of food, fun and games throughout the evening. There will also be face painting, a fortune teller, a bake sale and a gift basket or Visa gift card raffle.

• Pingpong/Vase Game
• Fear Factor Coffin
• Pumpkin bowling
In the case of rain or bad weather, all of the activities will be moved inside.
