Receipts: 1,275

Had 83 cows and 13 bulls. The packer market was as strong or stronger than last week as a small supply and steady demand held the market at a high level.

The calf market was once again higher by an average of more than $4 over last week's high market. This market is approaching record all-time highs for calves. Again, overall demand is strong, reflecting good wheat grazing conditions as well as favorable corn prices.

Packer bulls: Heavyweights, $92-$100; lower grades, $70-$85.

Packer cows: breakers, $65-$75; boning cows, $65-$84; canners and cutters, $80-$89; light and weak, $48-$60.

Palpated dry cows (only nine were bred): $100-$119; two pairs: $1,500 and $1,600.

Compared to last week: Wonderful rains in our area. Better quality classes of calves sold $3 to $5 higher in most areas - some lightweights $6 to $10 higher. Heavier weights 650 pounds and up sold steady. Demand very good in all areas.

Packer cows and bulls sold $3 higher on about 130 head total.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $74-$89; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $62-$74; lightweight canner cows, $50-$62.

Packer bulls: Heavyweight bulls, $95-$102.50; utility and cutter bulls, $87-$95; lightweight canner bulls, $80-$87.
