59 people cast ballots in first day of early voting

Almost 60 people voted in person Monday on the first day of early voting in the Nov. 5 constitutional amendment election.
So far, 59 people have voted in person. Also, 649 of the 1,468 mailed ballots have been returned, according to a news release from the Victoria County Election Administrator's office.
Early voting in person continues from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the Dr. Pattie Dodson Public Health Center in Classroom A, 2805 N. Navarro St. through Nov. 1. On Friday and Nov. 1, extended voting will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voters must show a photo ID to vote.
Nine proposed amendments are on the Victoria County ballot.
