Had 225 cows and 18 bulls. The packer market settled back about $2 due to weaker flat demand and time of the year. Seasonal meat products are being pushed, slowing your traditional meat demand.

The calf market was consistent with last week's record breaking market. No drop-offs in any class with a very active demand, resulting in the market holding strong.

Packer bulls: Heavyweights, $88-$95; lower grades, $70-$85.

Packer cows: breakers, $65-$75; boning cows, $65-$81; canners and cutters, $80-$84; light and weak, $40-$55.

Compared to last week: The market continues to strengthen considerably each week. Better quality classes sold $3 to $5 higher in the heavier weights and $4 to $8 higher in the lighter weight classes. The average of all calves sold was $6 higher. Demand extremely strong in all areas.

Packer cows and bulls sold steady to $1 higher on about 140 head total.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $74-$89; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $62-$74; lightweight canner cows, $50-$62.
