Rain, or lack of it, continued to be in the spotlight in August.

Victoria received less than two inches during the month and through the end of August had only accumulated 14.92 inches for the year, about 12 inches less than normal for the year through August.

But there is hope - September tends to be one of the wetter months for South Texas, according to the National Weather Service.

Last September, Victoria received 5.48 inches of rain, above the normal of 4.16 inches.
