Jackson County Master Gardeners to host plant sale Saturday
Sept. 12, 2013 at 4:12 a.m.
The Jackson County Master Gardener Association will host its annual tax-free Fall Plant Sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The event takes place inside Edna's Jackson County Services Building Auditorium, 411 N. Wells St. Proceeds will help fund projects such as the Texana Educational Garden.
More than 80 plant varieties will be available, including hibiscus, roses, ferns, grasses, ginger and salvia. Some will be fall blooming. Some Texas Superstars will be available.
Citrus and fruit trees will be on sale solely through special order this year, and individuals must pay in advance. Orders can be placed at the Jackson County A&M Extension office or at the plant sale.
Trees can be picked up from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at the services building.
Visitors to the sale are encouraged to take a moment to look at the progress of the educational garden, which sits south of the parking lot. The children's garden is taking shape, and the plan is to incorporate new garden areas this fall.
